Sustainability

At Severn Valley Ales, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and being as sustainable as we can be!

That's why, we are now brewing all of our beers with 100% renewable energy and reducing our carbon dioxide usage.  We have installed enough solar panels, a wind turbine and battery storage to brew up to twice weekly, using ZERO grid energy.

We have converted our Hot Liquor Tank (HLT) to run on a propane burner as propane provides much more heat per kg of gas than electricity and has a much lower conversion factor than other fuels.

Annually, we will offset our carbon from the propane using the Woodland Trust Carbon Offsetting Scheme and we will publish our tCO2e (carbon footprint) and what we have done to reduce it.

Our aim is to become the first brewery in Shropshire that is Carbon Net Zero!
